The lymphatic system
A return network, with no pump, collecting the fluid that escapes the capillaries. Three pages of this corpus already invoke it: it is the route dietary fat takes and the highway of the defence cells.
The problem this network solves
The blood and circulation page describes capillaries so fine their wall is a single layer of cells. That is what makes exchange possible — and it is also what makes them leaky.
Part of the fluid crossing them therefore escapes into the surrounding tissues and does not return by the same route. Without a way of recovering it, that fluid would accumulate.
Lymph
Fluid derived from plasma that has left the blood capillaries for the tissues, and is collected by a separate network of vessels to be returned to the blood circulation.

The lymphatic system is that recovery: a one-way network starting in the tissues, climbing towards the upper body and emptying into the veins just before the heart.
A network with no pump
This is the peculiarity setting it apart from the blood circulation. It has no heart.
It advances by the same means as the venous return described on the circulation page: valves that stop backflow, and the squeezing exerted by the surrounding muscles when they contract. Breathing contributes too, by varying the pressures inside the chest.

The mechanism is the same, and it produces the same consequence: prolonged stillness slows the return, muscle contraction speeds it up.
It is one of the few places in the body where movement plays a direct mechanical role, without going through a command or an adaptation.
Two roles the corpus already invoked
This network appeared in three pages without ever being described.
The dietary fat page states that absorbed fats take the lymph rather than the blood, because their transport particles are too bulky for the blood capillaries. This is that network, and it is why a fat avoids the liver on the first pass.
The immune system page describes defence cells that circulate. Lymph is one of their routes, and the lymph nodes set along the network are where those cells inspect what passes.

A swollen node is the visible sign of the third function: it is increased activity, not a malfunction in itself. Interpreting it remains clinical work.

A much-used vocabulary
The word "drainage" is attached to many manual, mechanical or dietary practices, whose content and effects vary enormously from one source to another. This page describes an anatomical network; it addresses none of those practices and recommends none.
The idea that a food, a drink or a technique "drains toxins" has no counterpart in the physiology cited here.

Regular physical activity is associated with better immune function, and the mobilisation of defence cells is part of it.

Limit
A network absent from the models
The anatomical sources Body Lab uses supply the skeleton, the muscles, the joints and the regions of the body. No lymphatic vessel appears there, any more than a blood vessel does.
The finest vessels of this network would in any case pose the same problem of scale as the capillaries: their diameter sits far below what an anatomical mesh represents.
